Algebra, T- Chart, and Linear Graph

1.) This diagram shows that a cabin with 1 room has 2 doors, a cabin with 2 rooms has 5 doors, and a cabin with 3 rooms has 8 doors.

Draw the next 2 cabins.

How many doors will a cabin with 10 rooms have?

~ 29 DOORS

Write an algebraic equation for this pattern.

~ 3x - 1 = y

2.) For this linear relationship y = 2x - 1. Complete the following table of values.

Create a graph representing these values.

Describe a pattern in real life that the linear relation y = 2x - 1 could represent. Make sure you explain what both x and y represent.

eg.

There's a bag of chip that costs $2.00. I bought 2 bags of chip (let's just say I bought 2 bags). I multiplied it by 2. Then I remembered I have a coupon worth $1.00 off.

3 = 2(2) -1

HERE ARE SOME VIDEOS TO HELP YOU!

SOLVE FOR HOMEWORK!

a.) 10 = x + 6 b.) x + 6 = 8 c.) x - 2 = 9 d.) x - 4 = 5

e.) 2x + 1 = 7 f.) 4x - 2 = 12 g.) x / 4 + 3 = 9 h.) x / 6 - 5 = 1

Subtracting Fractions with LIKE Denominators

SUBTRACTING FRACTIONS WITH LIKE DENOMINATORS

Whenever you subtract fractions with like denominators, you subtract the numerators to create the answer numerator, use the same denominator as the answer denominator.

DON'T FORGET TO REDUCE YOUR ANSWER TO LOWEST TERM!

5/6 - 1/6 = 4/6 or 2/3

Show with picture or model.

3/4 - 1/4 = 2/4 or 1/2

1/3 - 1/3 = 0/3 or 0

a.) 7/10 - 3/10 = 4/10 or 2/5

b.)1 - 1/9 = 8/9

You know how I got 8/9? Simple, we already know that when subtracting fractions, the denominator has to be the same so in this case, 9 is the denominator and if both numerator and denominator are the same it's equal to one. So it would be like this : 9/9 - 1/9 = 8/9.
